This month Stephen and I celebrated 10 years of marriage.

(us during Year 1)

10 years doesn’t seem like a long time to those who are married 25, 40 or 50 years, but as we marked the milestone with dinner at the Casa Monica hotel in St. Augustine, we nursed a drink at the bar and reflected on what the last 10 years mean to us.

After losing a restaurant business, a home, a couple of jobs, and all our babies, and gaining plenty of stress-laden gray hairs over the course of time, life hasn’t been a walk in the park. But on the flip side, a lot can and often does happen in 10 years – families are created, part, blend and re-blend, and we found ourselves saying, “it’s still you and me”. I know for certain that without Stephen’s expertise, savvy, emotional support and constant encouragement, my calligraphy business and a lot of other important things in my life would not exist. He is truly my best friend and the partner I am grateful to be doing life with each day.

So, here’s to many more years with my loved one.  🙂
