As we celebrate Father’s Day this month, I’m reminded of some of my favorite memories of my dad, like having him push me extra-hard and fast on the swings, and playing out in the New Jersey snow. Although he worked a lot, everything he did was to provide for my stay-at-home mom, me and my younger brother. His sense of duty to family and country (he served in the US Army during the Vietnam era) and his work ethic are some of the things I will always remember about him.

Of course, one of my all-time favorite memories of my dad is from my wedding day.

At the reception, we danced to “Unforgettable” by Nat King Cole, which has been voted one of the most popular father-daughter dance songs by Wedding Wire.

Although many people don’t grow up with their dads at home, or don’t have the fondest memories of their fathers, I have been blessed to have mine around to this day. He and my mom have been married for 42 years.
