A while back, when commenting on Christy’s wedding invitations, I offered a brief list of some of the best stationery brands to use when selecting invitations, envelopes and place cards that will work well with calligraphy ink. Remember, you want to choose paper of good quality that will not bleed or soak up the ink, thereby affecting the quality of the ink flow and the aesthetics of the handwriting.
Here are Calligraphia by Melissa’s Top Picks for best (wedding) stationery! Be sure to check these out at your local stationery store or through your online distributor.
Vera Wang designs – modern and exquisite.
William Arthur – always a favorite.
Crane & Co. – classic quality. They also feature a unique alternative to the tent-fold place cards: little table number cards that fit inside an envelope.
Checkerboard – a sophisticated staple.
Carlson Craft (Regency) – this was a bit of a surprise when I received the stationery to work from, but I have had nothing but good experiences ever since.
If you’ve already used any of these brands for your wedding or event, leave your comments!
